Players Don't Care About Player Safety!

Tonight's Monday Night Football match up between the Steelers and Bengals was one of the most disturbing games in recent memory. Besides a scary injury to Pittsburgh LB Ryan Shazier, we saw numerous vicious hits by both teams. Most notably, however, was Steelers WR JuJu Smith-Schuster's vicious hit on Bengals LB Vontaze Burfict. After laying out Burfict on a clean block, he stood over the linebacker and taunted him. Only 90 minutes prio, Smith-Schuster had seen his fellow teammate get carted off the field on an unfortunate but terrifying blow to the head.

Whether or not Burfict has been labeled as a "dirty" player throughout his tenure in the NFL, JuJu Smith-Schuster should have showed better judgement and displayed concern over his fellow football brethren. The sad truth is, players don't care about the health of their fellow players or the ones who came before them. They don't want to adapt their style of play to new rules. Worst of all, players today are completely dismissive of advice of the hundreds of players from previous eras that are currently suffering from similar hits that they themselves participate in.
