Possible Euthanasia Drug Contamination Prompts Dog Food Recall

Four brands of canned dog food are being recalled because they might be contaminated with a drug used to put dogs down.  The company that makes Gravy Train, Kibbles 'N Bits, Ol' Roy, and Skippy is voluntarily recalling them after pentobarbital was found in some cans of Gravy Train.  Pentobarbital is used as an anesthetic, sedative, or to euthanize animals.

The FDA says preliminary tests of Gravy Train samples showed low levels of the drug that are unlikely to pose a health risk to animals.
